Anthony Gonzalez (b. September 18, 1984) is an American football player for the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. He played college football for Ohio State University. Gonzalez was born in Avon Lake, Ohio and graduated from Saint Ignatius High School. Gonzalez was selected with the 32nd pick of the first round in the 2007 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
Gonzalez attended St. Joseph's grade school in Avon Lake, OH for eight years. He was awarded the Good Joe award which is given to an outstanding student based on their personal and academic performance in the classroom.
Gonzalez excelled on both offense and defense. He led St. Ignatius to the state championship as a junior and earned MVP honors. He caught 71 passes for 1,873 yards and 21 touchdowns in his high school career and set a St. Ignatius single-season record for average yards per catch (27.3) as a senior. Gonzalez earned first team All-Ohio honors as a senior and was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
